It's holiday, another escape from work. I can't just stay at home reading magazines all over again and watch my old copies of series. Something is telling me that I need to go out. So I searched for a place where we could enjoy our Labor day and invited my friends Poulla and Ivo. We came up with the idea of visiting La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City. It is the only remaining forest within Metro Manila after all, so it's a good catch.

Famous La Mesa Dam is located here. It is a vital link to the water requirements of 12 million residents of Metro Manila considering that 1.5 million liters of water pass through this reservoir every day.
The park's entrance fee is P50 for non-QC residents. You can enjoy a lot of attractions in La Mesa Ecopark such as, Lopez Picnic Grounds, Salt Water Swimming Pool, Superferry Boating Lagoon, Fishing Lagoon, Shell Flower Terraces, Ecomuseum, Butterfly Trail and Hatchery, Pavilions for rent for different private and public functions, Overnight camping zone, Biking area, and Zipline. Paintball field - Global Glutz is no longer available when we went there and so sad Wall climbing was also not yet available.
The last time I tried to ride a bike was a decade ago. I doubted if I can still ride one, but trying won't hurt much anyway. Many people say that you never forget how to ride a bike. And then, I proved them right. We rented a bike for P60 per hour. At first I was shaky, my legs felt like jelly and I was falling. Riding now is different. Because I haven't ridden in ten years, at least. But I fell off and got bruises in my knee and wounds in my right hand. But it was worth it.

Have you watch the pinoy movie The Mistress? There was a scene taken in this view and if I am not mistaken the lines uttered here was one of my favorite lines in the movie, "Kunwari maayos lahat sa mundo, anong makikita mo?".

This was my first zip line experience. I wasn't afraid of the height, I was more worried if that thing could support my weight. And thank God it did. It was not scary at all, just 5 minutes and not too high like the other zip lines I saw on TV and over the net. For that very short ride, rate of P200 is already expensive.

How we get there? We rode a FX northbound from MRT Quezon Ave. Station (near Eton Centris Mall) to Fairview and paid P30 each. Ask the driver to the drop you off Winston St. in East Fairview Subdivision and from there, we rode a green tricycle going to La Mesa Ecopark for P10 each.
